Community Service

The Calvary's Community Service Department believes that Christ's method alone will give true success in reaching people. Working along with other Health & Temperance and the Youth Department to meet the immediate needs of the community , we aim to provide assistance wherever possible. There are three divisions in our ministry: Elderly Care, Youth Empowered to Serve and Community Development.

The Community Service Department is currently working with the Bethel Recovery Center, a shelter in Bridgeport and the Refocus Center in Stratford. We currently provide food to the less fortunate in the comminity by way of our Food Pantry with operational hours being Sundays 12:00 -  1pm and Thursday 6 - 7pm. Most of our food supply come from the Connecticut Food Bank and our staff are volunteers from the church body.

We participate in different community projects and events and are on our way to being a certifiied Disaster Response Team along with members of other departments.  This will enable us to be able to help the community through any disaster.
